Amy Li came to New Zealand from China in 2001, after 6 years of study, she earned qualifications in business administration and finance. Over the years, she gained extensive experience managing service businesses, specializing in financial management and customer operations. After relocating to Invercargill for work in 2024, she quickly grew to love the city and saw an opportunity to bring her expertise to Bella Vista. She took over the motel in 2025 with a clear vision—to combine efficient operations with exceptional hospitality, making it the top accommodation choice in the region. With her strong financial background, Amy ensures the business thrives while delivering great guest experiences.

Our Community Involvement
With the Southern Insitute of Technology (S.I.T.) only a 8 minute walk away, we support them as much as we can.
- We donate old linen to S.I.T beauty school for young up and coming beauty therapists
- We work with students at S.I.T for flax weaving, we have had students come collect flax and in return they have made us items which we have given to guests.
- We also have students from S.I.T doing casual work.
- We work in with a local gardener who employs refugee immigrants to Invercargill, this gives them work plus interacting with local people.
- We are part of the Chamber of commerce business hub.
Our Sustainability Practices
The Bella Vista Group has a Sustainability Committee who oversee driving environment change to Bella Vista Accommodation Nationwide. The Bella Vista brand aim is to be carbon neutral by 2050.
- We have reuse-recycle tags in every bathroom to encourage customers to reuse their towels. This helps reduce energy and water usage.
- We provide 2 types of bins in all rooms, 1 x Recycle ,1 x Food Waste. These Grey bins are labelled so the process is easy for our customer’s.
- We recycle soft plastic, glass & general recycling to reduce our landfill.
- Energy saving light bulbs, key tags in light switches are all used to help reduce energy usage.
