We have ample safe parking and Kaikoura is perfect to explore on foot. We are within 5 minutes’ walking distance of the town centre and the information centre. Kaikoura Whale Watch and the Dolphin and Albatross Encounter are just a 10 minutes’ walk away.
Our motel is also close to the hospital, Takahanga Marae, racecourse and local churches.
Our superior smoke-free accommodation includes a variety of studios and one bedroom units. Our purpose built access units have been designed with parking at the door for your convenience. You have a choice of king, queen or single beds with electric blankets for those cooler nights.

Kaikoura has an 18 hole scenic links course approximately 3 km south of the Bella Vista Motel. Clubs and golf carts available for hire.
The Peninsula Cliff Top Walk takes about an hour one way. This walk from the Peninsula car park (seal colony) to South bay follows the limestone cliff top, giving good views of the shoreline below and mountains to the west. An alternative is along the shoreline which is about an hour longer and only accessible at low tide.
Situated in the unique alpine village of Hanmer Springs 90 minutes drive from Kaikoura inland to South West. At the centre of the village is Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, so popular that they were voted BEST VISITOR ATTRACTION at the 2004, 2005 and 2006 New Zealand Tourism Awards and also received the coveted Distinction Award in 2006.
