Welcome to Bella Vista Westport Motel Accommodation, more than just a place to stay, it’s the culmination of a family dream and a diverse global journey.
Our adventure began in 2011 in Thailand, where our focus was on the dedicated work of farming. After a decade of experience, we sought a new horizon. In 2021, we made the pivotal move to New Zealand, embracing a significant career shift. We started in Hawke's Bay, gaining valuable experience in the dynamic hospitality sector, before moving south to work on a livestock farm, strengthening our deep connection to the New Zealand way of life.
Yet, a new ambition was calling. We envisioned a professional challenge that would utilize our combined skills, from management to genuine care, while building a stable, bright future for our family. When we saw Bella Vista Westport listed for sale, the decision was immediate and clear: "Why not?" This beautiful motel presented the perfect opportunity to merge our background in hospitality with our long-held aspiration of owning a business dedicated to welcoming travellers.
Today, we proudly stand as the owners, ready to pour our heart and soul into ensuring your stay is nothing short of exceptional. Westport, Buller District - Your Destination
Westport, situated in the Buller district on New Zealand's West Coast, is a town rich in history. It features coal mining on the Denniston Plateau, which boasts the steepest railway incline in the country, as well as a gold-mining route that takes adventurers through remote backcountry, perfect for mountain biking and trail exploration. The Kawatiri trail provides a relaxed walk or cycle through the stunning scenery of the west coast, allowing visitors to encounter native wildlife along the way. There is a lot more to uncover, including the Oparara Arches and caves, a magnificent natural wonder near Karamea; as well as caves at Charleston, pancake rocks and blowholes at Punakaiki; Tauranga Bay seal colony, and spectacular views at Cape Foulwind. After visiting the Kawatiri museum, which highlights the region's rich history, you might want to enjoy a meal at one of our local restaurants, cafés, or try a famous wild meat pie from the West Coast Pie Co.

We understand we are part of our local community and participate in it by donating / recycling goods to local charities. Sponsoring school and sports teams is important, encouraging and supporting the youth / people of our area. Bella Vista Westport is a proud sponsor of the Buller Rugby Team.
Our Sustainability Practices
We take pride in supporting local businesses by shopping locally. We encourage our guests to minimise towel usage whenever possible to help conserve water. Additionally, we provide recycling options with in-room containers for this purpose. Our aim is to reduce the amount of waste going to our landfill.
We have reduced our use of chemicals by using ENJO fibres for cleaning.
