Lake Wakatipu

Milford Sound Day Trip

New Zealand’s most stunning natural attraction. Journey to Milford Sound, located in the Fiordland National Park, where you will experience pristine scenery, snow capped peaks, cliffs, waterfalls and fiords. There are many fly/bus/boat cruise options to choose from.

Queenstown Skyline Gondola and Restaurant

Located an easy walk from town, take the scenic gondola ride up Bob’s Peak. Upon reaching the top your options include - dining at the Stratosfare Restaurant for lunch or dinner, a Kiwi Haka Maori Cultural performance, luge tracks down, mountain biking or stargazing at night. 

Arrowtown

Located a 20 minute drive from Queenstown, Arrowtown is a quaint and charming gold rush village nestled below the peaks that surround the Arrow River. While you’re there enjoy a spot of shopping, dining in one of the restaurants, golfing and even gold panning.

Ben Lomond Walkway

It is a full day’s hike; the section from the saddle to the summit is very steep and not recommended for children under 10 years old.

The track begins at the Skyline Access Road/Tiki Trail. At about 800m altitude, you’ll climb to the 1326m Ben Lomond Saddle 3 – 4 hours. From here the track gets steeper and rougher as it approaches the 1,748m summit. 6 – 8 hours.

Walter Peak Farm Tours

A visit to Walter Peak Farm will give you an insight to farming life in New Zealand. You’ll travel on the TSS Earnslaw and reach the farmland located on Lake Wakatipu’s south-western shores.  The host will provide a guided walking tour of the farmyard and onto the lakeside gardens and Colonel’s Homestead. Options include: morning tea, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner.

Wine Tours & Tastings

There are a number of options for touring and tasting the local Central Otago wines. Either visit these yourself for tastings or a meal, or join one of the many tours available. With over 75 wineries in the region you are spoilt for choice - some highlights include: Amisfield, Gibbston Valley Winery and Peregrine.

Queenstown Underwater Observatory

Located on the Main Town Pier (lake end) this observatory allows visitors to check out the inhabitants of Lake Wakatipu including Diving ducks, large trout and eels. You’ll also learn about the myths of legends of the lake and its surrounds.

Lake Hayes

Located about 15 minutes drive from Queenstown, Lake Hayes is a stunning spot that’s famous for its natural beauty and reflective photo opportunities. Lake Hayes is popular for runners, walkers, weddings and photographers, day-trippers. The lake loop walk is approx. 2 – 3 hours.

Swing – A giant rope swing set on a 109m high cliff over the Shotover River. Offering over 70 different jump styles that take swingers on a 60m freefall past the vertical cliff face.

Fear Factory Queenstown

New Zealand’s scariest Haunted House - Fear Factory is located in Shotover Street and offers visitors a real-life horror experience.

Riverboarding, Sledgings & Riversurfing

Situated on Queenstown’s Kawarau River, you’ll be riding grade 2 – 3 rapids on specially modified boards or sledges. It’s an adventure filled experience with different levels available.

Bungy Jumping

Nevis Bungy - The Nevis is Queenstown's highest bungy jump and is 134 metres above the rugged Nevis River.

Kawarau Bridge Jump - This is Queenstown's original bungy jump over the Kawarau River and you can choose to bob above the water, touch it or get fully immersed.

Ledge Bungy - This unique AJ Hackett bungy is situated at the peak of the Gondola which is 400 metres in elevation above Queenstown's City Centre. The Gondola terminal is a short 3 minute walk from Bella Vista.
