Introducing your hosts, Stephen & Toni
After spending 20 years living in Blenheim, Toni and Stephen moved to Australia in 2005 with their two preschool boys, living in Northern New South Wales for 3 years. Stephen was adamant their boys should have the outdoors upbringing he had enjoyed, so home to New Zealand it was in 2008, settling in Nelson. Over 16 years later, the boys now living away from Nelson, Toni resigned from a 36 year banking career and Stephen having been a self employed contractor for 25+ years, they decided it was time for the next chapter. With their years of experience in property development & maintenance, Stephen’s building knowledge and Toni’s banking & business experience, they combine well to create a dynamic team for taking on his new venture as Moteliers’ at Bella Vista Nelson.
Providing guests a memorable experience from the time of check-in, to unpacking and relaxing in a clean and inviting room, to enjoying what interests you in Nelson is what they are passionate about.
Nelson and the Tasman region - Your Destination
Nelson is a wonderful location, it enjoys an incredible climate, offers a wonderful outdoor lifestyle, it is close to mountains, rivers, lakes, and the sea.
There are three national parks on the doorstep of Bella Vista Nelson, each one offering a different experience, and can be enjoyed all year round. Take a boat trip at the Abel Tasman National Park and walk part way, or walk the entire track, it is up to you. Whether they are driving along the waterfront or enjoying a walk or bike on one of numerous tracks, they never take for granted what a stunning place they call home. Most nights Toni and Stephen can be found walking their dog to Tahunanui Beach to enjoy the sunset, a magic time of the day!
Nelson Tasman is a stunning region, it has so much to offer for all visitors, whether you are interested in historically significant places and landmarks, arts culture, cycling & mountain biking, visiting a winery, meandering around the famous Nelson Saturday market, walking up to the Centre of New Zealand or coming to Nelson to attend one of the many annual festivals and events, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the top of the south island.

Our Sustainabiliity Practices
Bella Vista Nelson fully support the Bella Vista Sustainability Committees objectives in driving positive change in our network to be better environmental citizens. Developed and implemented our sustainability programme into our day-to-day business operations.
Some achievements include:
- Changing from single use bathroom amenities
- Implemented the ENJO cleaning system, significantly reducing chemical usage
- Recycle as much as possible to reduce landfill space including providing the opportunity for guests to recycle waste
- Encourage towel reuse to reduce energy and water usage
- Considered plant selection to avoid the requirement for watering
Toni and Stephen will continue to assess their carbon footprint, reduce waste, and protect what we have today for many generations to enjoy in the future.
